"The old man was Merline. He knew all along that Arthur would be king."

   This is The Sword in the Stone. The book was written by Grace Maccarone. This story is about long ago, there was a land without a king. That's why, four men who want to be a king said "I will be a king." Those men fought, so people thought that the war must end! Therefore, they went to Merline, who knew many things and magic. Merline waved his arms, then a great sword in a great stone grew out of the earth. Merline said "He who pulls this sword out of the stone will be king." Those men tried to pull. However, every men couldn't pull the sword. One day, a boy, Arthur tried to pull the sword and Arthur out it came! That's why, he became a king!
